The LORD Sets the Hearts on Fire

A psalm to David.

1 Judge me, O lord! for I [²in ³my innocence ¹went], and [²upon ³the ⁴ lord ¹hoping]. In no way should I weaken. 2 Try me, O lord, and test me! Set on fire my kidneys and my heart! 3 For your mercy [²before ³my eyes ¹is]; and I was well-pleased in your truth. 4 I sat not with the sanhedrin of folly; and with ones acting unlawfully in no way shall I enter. 5 I detested the assembly of ones doing wickedness; and with the impious in no way shall I sit. 6 I shall wash [²in ³innocent things ¹my hands], and I shall encircle your altar, O lord, 7 to hear my voice of praise of you, and to describe all your wonders. 8 O lord, I loved the beauty of your house, and the place of the tent of your glory. 9 You should not destroy together [²with ³the impious ¹my soul], nor [²with ³the men ⁴of blood ¹my life], 10 in whose hands are lawless deeds, and their right hand was filled of bribes. 11 But I [²in ³my innocence ¹was gone]. Ransom me, and show mercy on me! 12 My foot stands in straightness. In the assemblies I shall bless you, O lord.
